X, formerly Twitter, faced global outages, with more than 47,000 users in the United States unable to access the platform.

The outages were felt in North America, Asia and the UK, where users were furious at being unable to view posts.

The online outage monitoring website, Downdetector.com, said the problem persisted for over an hour and was later resolved.

According to media reports, thousands of users could not access X amid global outages for unknown reasons.

Users could not view posts on the platform and instead had to face a message that said “Welcome to X!”, Reuters report said.

The hashtag #TwitterDown started trending on X after the reports of global outages were revealed.

Elon Musk, who recently took over the platform, has yet to comment on the issue that affected users worldwide.
