Majority in UK Don’t Understand Key Climate Concepts: Polls

Majority of people in the United Kingdom barely have an idea about the basic concepts of climate change.

The Study

The study conducted by the insights company Trajectory and the communications agency Fleet Street suggested that only 25% of people clearly understood the terms green, environmentally friendly and locally grown.

Mark Stretton, a co-founder of Fleet Street, said he was shocked to see how poorly the majority in the UK understood climate language.

The study claimed that young people between 18 and 24 were more confident in understanding key terms about climate policy and the environment.

Young people were 24% more familiar with “sustainability” than those above 65.
